Structural Battery Technology
Replace dead vehicle mass with energy storage.
Structural battery cells for EV frames, robotic limbs, and mobility platforms. The chassis stores charge. The AI keeps every cell honest.
The Problem We Solve
EVs carry battery weight in two ways
Conventional EVs bear two separate mass burdens: energy storage and the load-bearing chassis. A 600kg battery pack supplies energy but adds nothing to the vehicle's structural integrity.
Sasung Power cells are designed to carry charge and compressive load together. Their carbon-fiber reinforced polymer laminate is the cell housing, floor panel, side sill, and structural member that preserves rigidity in a side-impact event.

BMS Software Platform
Cell-level management for structural demands
Real-time SOC, SOH, and thermal state for each structural cell, not pack aggregates.
Links electrochemical state to mechanical stress measurements from embedded strain sensors.
CAN bus and REST endpoints support existing vehicle control units without requiring ECU stack rearchitecture.
Applications
Structural batteries across three sectors
Removing the battery pack creates compounding benefits across three sectors.
Floor panels, side sills, and door structures serve as the battery system. Cut mass 12-18% versus pack-based architectures at equivalent energy capacity.
EV integration guideManipulator arm segments and mobile platform chassis provide their own energy storage. Extend runtime without a payload penalty in collaborative robot applications.
Robotics architectureeVTOL fuselage panels and rotor booms carry aerodynamic loads and energy storage, creating range margins beyond conventional pack placement.
UAM applicationsSasung's structural cell measured 8.1 GPa elastic modulus and showed full electrochemical cycle retention after 200 impact simulation events. We did not expect that combination from a team at this stage.
